School Safety

To ensure that all of our students and staff remaining safe during arrival and departure times this message is to remind all parents that they must use the main entrance when signing their children in or out of school. All child care parents are permitted to use the Child Care kepypad doors using their assigned pin number to enter the building and to drop off their children. Child Care parents may then exit the portapak doors after signing their children in. At no time may parents enter  the school through the portapak doors or kindergarten doors. Thank you in advance for your support.

For the next two weeks (from Jan. 28th-Feb. 8th), students in grades one through six will have the opportunity to snowshoe! The school board loans out snowshoes to schools who wish to participate throughout the winter months. Thank you to Mr. Bruno for organizing and thank you to our parent volunteers who have offered to assist some of our classes! ____________________________________________________________________

Snow Day Information and Reminders

To find out if student transportation is cancelled due to inclement weather, you can get first-hand information at the Ottawa Student Transportation Authority’s (OSTA) WEBSITE or on OSTA's twitter feed @OttSchoolBus. We also retweet this information as soon as it becomes available on our St. Luke twitter page.

In the event that transportation is cancelled, pizza and/or Subway lunch days are postponed. In addition, any class or school trips are also cancelled.

Parents/guardians are responsible for dropping off AND picking up at the end of the day. Students must be picked up by 3:40 pm. If your child takes the bus to school, we do not require that you phone the school to report your child’s absence. Alternatively, if your child is a ‘walker’, please ensure that you call the school to notify us if he/she is staying home that day.

We thank you in advance for assisting us on ‘snow days’. They are very busy days for us in the office and we appreciate your assistance.
