A Prayer for the First Week of Advent “All-powerful God, increase our strength of will for doing good that Christ may find an eager welcome at His coming and call us to His side in the kingdom of heaven, where he lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit one God, forever and ever, Amen”. ____________________________________________________________________ Week at a Glance Wednesday, December 5th Friday, December 7th ____________________________________________________________________ Farewell to Mrs. Fortier I would like to take this opportunity to inform our St. Luke school community that Mrs. Fortier has received a new assignment for January 2019. Mrs. Fortier will be joining St. Emily as Vice-Principal. Although Mrs. Fortier was only with us for a short time, we have been truly blessed and inspired by her passion towards education, her leadership, and her dedication to our school community. On behalf of the staff, students and greater community, we would like to thank Mrs. Fortier for all that she’s done and wish her well as she embarks on her new journey. St. Emily is lucky to have you! You will be greatly missed by all! ____________________________________________________________________ A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful Catholic School Council for once again organizing and hosting our annual Snowflake Ball. Grade 3 Performance On Thursday November 22nd the Grade 3 students from Mrs. Milne, Mrs. Kelly and Mr. Bruno's classes performed at the Rag and Bone production of "Zoom at Sea" at Centrepointe Theatre. The students have been practicing diligently for the past two months and their hard work was evident. The performance was fabulous! A special thank you to Mrs. Sherwin who directed the choir and to all the families who came to watch the show. Well done Grade 3s!

This year, our students raised $420 and coupled with another $210 in private donations, these contributions raise our school’s 7 year totals to just over $5000! Bravo St. Luke! Thanks to Mr. Risto, Mr. Bruno, Mr. Pratt, Mr. Faux, Mr. Dore and Mr. Mike for helping to change the face of men’s health. Grow It! Dye It! Shave It St. Luke! ____________________________________________________________________ Advent Our Advent project, in support of the Angel Tree, is well underway! Thank you kindly to all those who participated in Sports Jersey Day and for all your generous contributions.
A friendly reminder to please bring any unwrapped items with an angel tag to school by Friday, December 14th. You can also contribute to our front lobby display by donating hats, scarves and mittens. All items will be donated to the Youville Centre.
On December 7th students and staff are invited to wear Christmas colours and/or “ugly” Christmas sweaters. All proceeds collected will go to support families in need right here in our St. Luke School community. Thank you so much for your support over the holiday season. ____________________________________________________________________ The shared St. Luke Intention Book St. Luke would love to welcome the parent community to take part in our student, staff and parent prayer Intention Book. The St. Luke Community Intention Book is at the front office foyer and is there for all to share their thoughts and prayers. Staff and students have already written in this beautiful book!
