Ottawa Race Weekend

This past weekend, some of our St. Luke students along with Mrs. Shurb, ran in the Ottawa Kids Marathon during the Tamarack Ottawa race weekend. Students have been preparing for the race over the past few weeks. They’ve added kilometres each week with the conclusion of the 1.2 km race last Sunday. A special thank you to Mrs. Shurb for organizing and preparing students for this special event. In addition, thank you to Mrs. Peddle for attending the race on Sunday! Congratulations to all of our runners who took part! As always, St. Luke was well represented.

We would like to take this opportunity to inform our St. Luke school community that Mrs. Shurb has been appointed Vice Principal of St. George Catholic School for the 2019-2020 school year. St. George is beyond lucky to have gained such a dedicated, hard-working and innovative leader. She will be greatly missed by all.

Congratulations, Mrs. Shurb!

CTV News Story

Terry Marcotte of CTV News covered a story here at St. Luke a few weeks which aired this past Tuesday. The story featured one of our students, Dylan, his father, Mr. Bruno and Mrs. Perrier. Its a heart-warming story that captures the true meaning of inclusion and really highlights how great of a school St. Luke is. If you haven’t already, please take a moment and watch the video below.

You can view the news clip HERE.

Frisbee Tournament

Last Wednesday, our St. Luke Ultimate Frisbee team took part in our board-wide tournament held at St. Mark’s Catholic High School. As always, St. Luke was well represented! Students had a great day and luckily the weather cooperated. Thank you to Mr. Dore for coaching the team. You can view a video of their game HERE.

Barrhaven Food Drive

Dear Parents,

You might not know this, but we are doing a Food Drive campaign for the Barrhaven Food Cupboard. This Food Drive will take place June 10-14. To start the Food Drive, we will have a kick-off at the Family Fun Fair on Wednesday, June 5. Any money that is gathered from the dunk tank will be donated to the Barrhaven Food Cupboard. You are welcome to join us after 5:30 p.m. on June 5 at St. Luke. Just by donating money and food, you could save hungry people!

By Devin, Peyton M., Avery, Nik, and all the Grade 4 students

Messages from CSC:

Student volunteers needed

Do you have , or know of, a grade 9-12 student that is looking for volunteer hours? We are looking for a few volunteers at our year end event on June 5 from 3:40 pm to about 8:30/9 pm. They would be monitoring the bouncy castles/games and helping out with setup / tear down and clean up.

Please email stlukecouncil@gmail.com if they are interested.

Subway Lunch Day

Please note that the June 20th Subway Day has been moved to Monday, June 24th. Please share with others that you know have ordered.
