Easter Sunday Prayer God our Father, by raising Christ your Son you conquered the power of death and opened for us the way to eternal life. Let our celebration today raise us up and renew our lives by the Spirit that is within us. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen
On behalf of the St. Luke staff, we would like to wish you a blessed Easter weekend with family and friends. Happy Easter. ____________________________________________________________ Lenten Charity Update

Please send a note to the school, or call Mrs. Soula Pezoulas, our Office Administrator, indicating the new school which your child or children will be attending. Thank you for your help. __________________________________________________ Kindergarten Registration Although our school board designates a week for kindergarten registration in January, we are happy to welcome and register any child at any time for full-day Kindergarten. The St. Luke ECO team, students and staff all are having a blast with the many ECO initiatives that have taken place. Congratulations to all of the students for participating in the March International Day of Forests and Earth Hour.
This month, St. Luke school will be starting to collect plastic bags from homes (grocery & shopping bags, ziplocs, bubble wrap) as we now have a plastic bag recycling bin in our front office. We are registered for the Plastic Bag Grab Challenge during Earth Week (April 16th - 20th). The Plastic Bag Grab challenge is a waste reduction program for elementary schools across Canada that engages schools and students on the 3Rs hierarchy: reduce, reuse, and recycle. The challenge is open to all Canadian students from kindergarten to grade eight. Please help us in this initiative as the grand prize of $1000 will be awarded to one school in each province/territory who best embraces the reduce and reuse objectives of the 2018 Plastic Bag Grab Challenge.
Stay tuned for other ECO initiatives that our St. Luke School will be taking on during Earth Week. More detailed information will be shared with our community via Twitter and our St. Luke website. ____________________________________________________________ Preparing for EQAO Assessment

Celebrating Excellence is an annual event that recognizes one exceptional student from each of our 82 schools. Students are singled out for exemplifying one or more of the following Gospel values: faith, hope, community, dignity of persons, excellence, justice, and stewardship for creation. This year, we are happy to recognize Brian Albrecht, a grade six student. Brian will be recognized on April 9th at St. Paul Catholic High School. Congratulation, Brian!
Please note that Friday, April 27th is a PD Day. There is no school for students on this day.
